Look fabulous from head to toe on your wedding day

If you’ve spent all your time thinking about your hair, make-up and nails for your wedding then you could be neglecting some very important beauty preparations. But don’t worry! We’re here to make sure that on your Big Day you look truly glamorous from head to toe.

Let’s start at the top and work our way down…

Your neck and décolletage

Yes, we know we’ve missed out your head, but we’re assuming you’ve already thought about having umpteen facials and that your hair and makeup plans are made! So we’re going to focus on the parts you might not have thought about.

Unless you’re opting for a high-necked dress and a Victorian themed wedding, you could be flashing a lot more flesh than normal as you walk up the aisle. Dry skin, unwanted hair, fine lines and sagging folds might make an appearance, so it’s worth taking action now to ensure that this is one less thing to worry about on the day.

Skin laxity

Skin laxity is an issue that often affects the neck and décolletage, particularly as a result of aging and sun exposure, but it can also be a problem if you’ve recently lost weight. Our Venus Freeze treatment painlessly uses radio waves to stimulate collagen remodeling and return you to a more youthful appearance.

To give your neck a work-out, our CACI system uses electrical pulses to activate the muscles which support your skin, resulting in the rejuvenation of skin tone and texture. This can be equally applied to your face, neck and décolletage.

Fractional mesotherapy is another facial treatment which can also provide dramatic results for sagging and aging skin. The mesotherapy technique uses micro-needling to inject a solution into the skin and combines this with electroportation, photo and LED stimulation to enhance the effects.

Give your skin a boost

Restylane Vital skin boosters can have an amazing effect in adding volume to problem areas, such as signs of aging on your neck. Injected directly into the zones you want to focus on, they nourish and hydrate the skin at a deep level.

Profhilo is another popular hyaluronic acid treatment which hydrates and rejuvenates your skin.

Venus freeze, combined with skin boosters, is a particularly effective treatment to rejuvenate your décolletage and making you feel like a million dollars on your big day!

Or, if you want to feel like a Hollywood starlet, why not try the Red Carpet facial peel?

Laser hair removal

Laser hair removal can be used to target any unwanted hair, be it in your armpit or in other areas (such as your upper back). Using lasers is a gentle but effective way to permanently remove this nuisance hair. If you prefer to wax then make sure you have your last session two or three days before your wedding to allow any soreness or redness to die down.

A workout for your neck

Neck exercises can also help to gradually improve the muscle tone. Here are a few to try:

  • Push your chin forwards then move your lower jaw forwards too, a bit like a tortoise, then release.
  • Relax your shoulders, look straight ahead and gradually move your head to look at the ceiling. Slowly bring your head back down again.
  • Press your tongue against the top of your mouth and release. This is also a handy tip for your wedding photos – it will give you an immediate lift, reducing the risk of a double chin.

Your hands

You’ll want everyone to see your left hand after the ceremony so you can show off your new ring, and you’ll be able to flaunt your fingers with confidence after just a few simple steps.

Intensively nourish and hydrate

Profhilo or Restylane skin boosters are a great way to nourish and hydrate the skin on your hands, dealing with any fine lines and wrinkles, giving you a healthier and more youthful appearance. This injectable treatment can have fabulous results after just one session, but book yourself in for three to maximise the effect.

If you don’t fancy going under the needle, then our CACI non-surgical facelift techniques can also be applied to your hands, boosting circulation and smoothing away fine lines and wrinkles.

And if you have unwanted hair on your hands or wrists this can be simply and permanently removed using laser hair removal.

Daily regime

In the weeks before the big day you can give your hands more intensive treatment at home to ensure they look their best. Here’s our recommend nighttime regime for heavenly hands:

  1. Exfoliate your hands – you can make your own natural (and plastic-free) exfoliator by combining 2 tablespoons of coconut oil or olive oil, 2 tablespoons of honey and 6 tablespoons of coarse sea salt or sugar.
  2. Rinse and dry your hands then massage cuticle cream into the base of each nail.
  3. Slather on a deep, rich moisturising cream.
  4. Put light cotton gloves on to keep the cream next to your skin all night (and stop it getting onto your bedding!).

Your feet

Your feet might be hidden from view for most of the day, but they’re going to be working very hard to keep you going in those elegant new shoes (replete with their silver sixpence!).

Expert advice

We asked chiropodist and podiatrist Angela Foster HCPC for her expert view on how to support your feet so they can support you on the day…

Standing is a given, so choose shoes which will last the day and well into the evening, preferably in a similar style to that which you already have become used to.

Consider having a second pair ready for the evening which has a flatter, more rounded toe shape and which you don’t have to think about. People don’t look at your feet if you aren’t bothered about them.

Perhaps have a gel nail applied to a ‘gammy’ damaged or fungal infected toenail to give an overall better look.

Always put on a good clear undercoat before applying nail varnish and remember not to leave any nail varnish or gel preparation for too long after the event – it doesn’t do the nail any good.

But it’s not just about your nails! Heels can let you down too. A good heel balm at about 25% urea strength will help soften the feet and keep hard skin manageable. There are clear gel pads which will give you excellent protection to cover the more vulnerable places on your feet.

Remember that foot preparation should start well before the day as more than one appointment might be necessary to make those feet dance floor and beach ready! If you’d like to benefit from Angela’s 27 years’ experience to get your feet wedding-ready then you can call her on 07785 53 57 58 or email her at angelafosterchiropody@gmail.com. It’s never too early to have a good foot day and walk on air!

Stay fresh

And if your feet tend to be a bit on the sweaty side, our hyperhidrosis botox treatment can ensure that your soles feel fresh the whole day through (and for the rest of the summer!).

Enjoy your day!

But when all this said and done it’s important to remember that, so long as you’re happy on your wedding day, it really doesn’t matter what you look like. Glamming up for your big day should be the icing on the (wedding) cake.

In the words of American actress Joanne Woodward

Sexiness wears thin after a while, and beauty fades. But to be married to a man who makes you laugh every day, now that’s a real treat.
