Ban on botox and fillers for under 18s

As has been widely reported in the press, a new law has come into effect today which bans under 18s from receiving botox or filler treatments for cosmetic reasons. It also ensures that where there is a medical need for young people to receive these treatments, only a doctor, registered medical practitioner or health professional can administer the injections.

We welcome this new legislation. As members of the Save Face register of accredited aesthetic practitioners, we fully support their stance that further restrictions on who can carry out non-surgical cosmetic treatments would create a safer environment for all patients.
