Peels – the mother of good skincare
Good skincare starts with an understanding of the basics.
The skin is a multi-layered organ, so a key aspect of looking after it is managing the healthy removal of dead skin cells. These cells can make the skin appear dull and prevent the absorption of moisture.
Peels achieve exfoliation on a deep and highly effective level.
Having a professional peel from time to time creates a foundation for good skin. Peels not only help to manage and resolve specific skin issues; they can help to slow the signs of ageing and maintain skin health.
The link between exfoliation and hydration
Hydration is hugely important to protect the skin. Investing in quality skincare products is ineffectual if they can’t penetrate the layer of dead skin cells in order to do their work.
That’s why effective exfoliation is so important to care for your skin.
Exfoliation supports hydration by ensuring that nourishing moisture applied to the skin can be more readily absorbed.
How do peels work?
A professional peel involves specially formulated natural acids being applied to the skin. These deeply exfoliate the skin to significantly improve skin texture and give a rejuvenated appearance.
What are the benefits of peels?
Peels provides a deep exfoliation of your skin that stimulates long-term improvement in skin health.
Skin peels achieve different benefits depending on the needs of the individual.
They can address specific skin issues such as repairing sun damage and reducing the appearance of acne and acne scarring.
Peels smooth fine lines, reduce blemishes and improve overall skin texture – resulting in skin which looks brighter and healthier. They can also be used to target areas of mild to moderate hyperpigmentation to even out skin tone.
What types of peel are available?
We offer three different peel treatments:
ZO Ossential Red Carpet Peel
ZO Ossential Red Carpet Peel is a very gentle peel, which exfoliates skin to instantly reveal a smoother and brighter complexion.
This peel is more superficial, so there is virtually no downtime – it’s therefore often used by patients to prepare for a special event.
Obagi Blue Peel Radiance
Obagi Blue Peel Radiance is a medium-depth peel, which gives skin a firmer, smoother and rejuvenated appearance.
ZO 3 Step Peel
ZO 3 Step Peel is a deeper peel, to more intensely exfoliate the skin and achieve long-lasting results.
Because this peel is deeper, with each step in the treatment about one month apart, it stimulates a long-term improvement in the skin, encouraging rejuvenated, healthier skin.
How can I find out which peel is right for me?
Depending on the particular reason the peel is required along with your desired outcome, your practitioner will recommend which type of peel is best for your specific needs.
