Cheek fillers in Huntingdon

Cheek fillers are a gentle and extremely effective way to restore lost volume to your mid face and lift your lower face, giving you an overall rejuvenated appearance.

We offer expert dermal filler treatment, including cheek fillers, to patients at our Huntingdon clinic.

Understanding dermal fillers

Dermal filler treatment involves carefully targeted injections of hyaluronic acid. This naturally occurring substance helps to maintain the structure of the skin, working alongside collagen and elastin.

As we get older, these elements naturally deplete, causing our skin to become less elastic, which can lead to a loss of volume and skin laxity. This can be particularly apparent in the cheeks and lower face.

Dermal fillers are particularly effective at restoring lost volume. They are used to fill out and reduce the appearance of deep lines, and to hydrate the skin. The result is skin that appears plumped and rejuvenated.

As well as improvements to the cheeks and lower face, we use dermal fillers to address many common issues such as:

While mainly used to rejuvenate facial skin, dermal fillers can also improve the skin on the hands and reduce the appearance of scars.

What are cheek fillers?

Cheek fillers are a type of dermal filler, which are used to add volume to your mid and lower face.

At Melior Clinics, we use Juvéderm Voluma for our cheek filler treatments.

Juvéderm

Juvéderm contains ‘cross-linked’ hyaluronic acid. This means that the chains of hyaluronic acid molecules are linked together, making them more stable and therefore giving you longer-lasting results.

Unlike some hyaluronic acid-based treatments, such as skin boosters, which are more liquid, dermal fillers are gel-like in consistency. This means that they add volume, as well as hydration, exactly where you need it.

How do cheek fillers rejuvenate your appearance?

When we are young, our face is at its widest across our cheeks.

As we age, our skin naturally loses its youthful fullness as collagen and elastin levels decrease. In addition, the fat pads in our upper and mid face gradually diminish, while the lower face fat pads become fuller. This gradual shift over time can cause the jawline to look wider and the cheek area to look sunken or hollow.

Cheek fillers combat this ageing process by restoring lost volume to your cheeks. The lifting effect means that lines and folds in your lower face are softened.

Cheek fillers before and after

For this patient at our Huntingdon clinic, we used 2.5ml of Juvéderm Voluma to restore her depleted cheek volume, giving her a revitalised appearance.
With the subtle use of dermal fillers, Tee has restored volume to this patient’s midface and enhanced the shape of her cheeks. The result is a more youthful and lifted appearance, clearly visible from her side profile.
This patient visited Charlotte to reduce her marionette lines. Charlotte used a carefully selected blend of Juvéderm fillers to restore lost volume to the upper cheeks, and soften both marionette lines and nasolabial folds. As a result, the patient’s midface is plumped and lifted, lines are softened and her overall appearance is rejuvenated.

What to expect after your cheek filler treatment?

You will notice the benefits of your cheek filler treatment immediately. Your cheeks will look fuller and higher. Your lower face will have been lifted, giving you a smoother, better defined jawline.

After your treatment you can go about your day as normal; your practitioner will talk you through any aftercare requirements. The area treated may feel a little sore for a couple of days and occasionally there’s a small amount of bruising at the injection points, which should quickly heal.

The benefits of cheek fillers usually last between 6 and 12 months.
