Due to the miniature nature of the threads, which allow for compact and neat implementation, treatment areas can be broken down into small sectors, thus allowing for lower prices and targeted areas including:
A PDO thread lift treatment involves the implantation of fine absorbable polydioxanone threads via a series of small needles. The innovative technology uses the natural skin tension lines, which causes an effect similar to a surgical facelift.
The threads stimulate the synthesis of collagen and elastin and aid tissue contraction, thus providing a lift and improved skin quality to the treated area. Patients will notice an immediate improvement in the skin’s appearance.
PDO threads are small and flexible and designed to be used in groups of three or four to create a strong ‘weave’ effect. Unlike other thread lift sutures, they do not have hooks or tapers to raise the tissue but, instead, the lifting effect is achieved both by the special thread weave and the thread material (PDO).
Six months following treatment, the threads will have been fully absorbed, leaving new collagen in their place. The lifting effect is at its peak at six months when collagen has formed around the threads, although the simulation of collagen and elastin production and synthesis continues for up to 2 years.
The treatment is performed using local anaesthetic with possible bruising and swelling that lasts 2-3 days.
