Information on parking/public transport access
To reach us by public transport, the nearest tube stations to our Harley Street clinic are Bond Street, located along Oxford Street for the Jubilee and Central lines, Regent’s Park, located on Marylebone Road for the Bakerloo line, and Oxford Street for the Central, Bakerloo and Victoria lines.
If you are travelling by car, on street parking is available in the Harley Street / Wimpole Street area. Charges are hourly from 8.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday, with a four-hour maximum stay.
There are two 24-hour car parks close to Harley Street. Q-Park offers secure parking at Queen Anne Mews, W1G 9HF. There is a larger car park at Cavendish Square, W1G OPN.
Please note that the Harley Street area is within the Congestion Charging Zone.

What is laser hair removal like?
Before your treatment
If you are having body laser hair removal, your practitioner will give you privacy while you remove your clothing. As appropriate, you may be given a blanket for warmth and, if you’re having bikini laser hair removal, we will give you some disposable underwear to wear.
You will then be asked to recline on our treatment chair and put on safety glasses (to shield your eyes from the laser light).
Your practitioner will smooth a cooling gel or lotion over the area to be treated.
During your treatment
The laser will be focused on your hair follicles, delivering a brief pulse of light into each one.
This may feel slightly warm or tingle a little with each pulse and you’ll probably hear a clicking sound from the machine.
Some people are more sensitive to the treatment than others, so if you feel any discomfort please let your practitioner know.
After your treatment
Your treatment will take anywhere from a few minutes to over an hour, depending on the area to be treated. If the treatment is lengthy, you are welcome to take a comfort break during it.
When finished, your practitioner will wipe any excess cooling gel or lotion from your skin and leave you to re-dress. They will then explain the aftercare recommendations and next steps for your treatment.

We will confirm your viability at the free initial consultation. However, patients who may not be suitable for treatment include:
- Those with ginger, blonde or white hairs, which may respond poorly to treatment.
- Dark skin types such as Asian and Afro Caribbean skin. These skin types may not be suitable for the stronger lasers because the skin pigment absorbs too much energy, which can risk causing skin damage.
- Patients with a recent sun tan.
- Patients with a history of sensitivity to light based treatments.
- People with an active infection in the area to be treated.
- Pregnant women.
What type of laser is used?
Some clinics may offer a lower cost option of hair removal using IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology. At our Harley Street clinic, we use the more effective Cynosure light-based laser technology.
The benefits of using this method of laser hair removal over IPL include:
- Successful results with 90% of patients receiving permanent hair loss after 3 to 6 sessions.
- Precise treatment targeting dark, coarse hairs or smaller areas whilst protecting the surrounding skin.
- Settings can be adjusted to specific skin tones and hair colour.

Does laser hair removal hurt?
The laser light is naturally absorbed by the darker melanin pigment in the root of the hair, within the follicle, without heating the surrounding skin.

When should I have laser hair removal?
Hair growth takes place in cycles, so at any given time, some hair follicles are actively growing and some are ‘resting’.
Laser hair removal is most effective when the hair is actively growing. Therefore, a series of treatments are needed at our Harley Street clinic to ensure that as many hairs as possible are treated during their growing phase.

For best results 6 to 8 treatments are needed at 6 to 10 week intervals.
Depending on skin tone and hair type, some patients require maintenance treatments once or twice a year to maintain the results.
The number of treatments depends on hair colour, skin tone, hair density and the site of hair growth, all of which we will advise you about during your free initial consultation.
How quickly will I see results?
Hairs will fall out over a period of days to weeks, so the results will develop over time.
Because laser hair removal works best when hair follicles are in their growing stage, a course of treatment ensures that all hairs are caught at the correct point during the growth cycle.
Can I have laser hair removal in combination with other treatments?
It is not recommended to have another treatment on the same day, in the same area of skin as the laser hair removal treatment.
Tanning treatments and tanning injections are not suitable treatments to have in conjunction with laser hair removal.
