Profhilo Huntingdon
We are delighted to offer rejuvenating Profhilo treatment to patients in Huntingdon.
As we age, our skin loses its youthful fullness and vitality. Profhilo is an injectable skin booster that hydrates and lifts the skin to reduce laxity and restore radiance.
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring chemical, which the body uses to retain water in the skin and support its plumping collagen and elastin. Over time, the production of hyaluronic acid in our skin decreases, leading to dehydration and skin sagging.
Profhilo provides one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid available on the market – so we’re delighted to be able to offer this to our Huntingdon patients.
Profhilo’s intense infusion of hyaluronic acid achieves deeply hydrated, firmed and lifted skin. Its rejuvenating effects increase gradually in the weeks following your treatment.

FAQs
What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is a deeply hydrating, injectable hyaluronic acid gel available at our Huntingdon clinic.
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring chemical, which the body uses to retain water in the skin and to support collagen and elastin.
Profhilo provides one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid available on the market.
How does Profhilo rejuvenate the skin?
Profhilo has a prolonged, stimulating effect on the dermal cells.
The hyaluronic acid solution is delivered into the skin via a series of small injections by our expert practitioners in Huntingdon.
Profhilo stimulates the production of collagen, which has a plumping effect, to reduce the signs of ageing and sun damage.
Because Profhilo acts on the skin at a cellular level, it has a prolonged rejuvenating effect.
What are the longer term benefits of Profhilo?
Profhilo continues to work in your skin for around a month after your treatment at our Huntingdon clinic.
At this point, it will have been metabolised by your body and will have stimulated your natural collagen and elastin production. This means that the rejuvenating effects of your treatment will continue even after Profhilo has been naturally broken down.
By this time, your skin will feel smoother, softer, tighter and plumper.
Which areas of the skin can be treated with Profhilo?
From our Huntingdon clinic, we use Profhilo treatment to tackle the signs of ageing on the face (particularly the cheeks), the neck, décolletage, chest, stomach, inner arms, hands and knees.
Profhilo is particularly effective at improving any slackness and increasing the overall radiance of your skin.
How many Profhilo treatments are recommended?
For new patients to our Huntingdon clinic, we recommend two treatments, four weeks apart, for the best results.
Depending on your skin type and desired results, your practitioner may recommend a third treatment, usually eight weeks after your second one.
How does Profhilo differ from dermal fillers?
Whilst dermal fillers and Profhilo are both made from hydrating hyaluronic acid, they perform different functions in the skin.
Dermal fillers are designed to stay in a single place, adding volume to specific areas of the skin.
Profhilo works differently. It integrates with the skin to trigger your own, natural, anti-ageing processes.
In addition, Profhilo does not contain synthetic additives, such as BDDE (1,4-Butanediol diglycidyl ether), which minimises the risk of side effects.
Both treatments have different, but equally impressive, benefits.
Can Profhilo be used to prevent the signs of ageing?
Yes. Our expert practitioners in Huntingdon may also recommend Profhilo as a preventative measure for skin ageing.
This is achieved because Profhilo integrates with your skin to trigger your natural anti-ageing processes.
How long does Profhilo treatment take?
Following your free initial consultation, when you’re ready to go ahead, the treatment itself can be as quick as 10 minutes, depending on the number of areas to be treated.
Your practitioner will make a series of small injections to administer the treatment. Facial Profhilo, for example, requires only five injections at strategic points around the face.
How long does Profhilo last?
Profhilo continues to work in your skin for around a month after your treatment, at which point it will have stimulated your natural collagen and elastin production.
This means that the rejuvenating effects of your treatment in Huntingdon will continue even after Profhilo has been naturally broken down.
After your initial treatments, a Profhilo treatment every six months at our Huntingdon clinic should be sufficient to maintain the benefits.
Who can have Profhilo?
Profhilo at our Huntingdon clinic is suitable for most people who want to improve the effects of skin ageing and sun damage.
As with any injectable treatment, we won’t be able to treat you if you are pregnant or breast feeding. If you have any other medical condition or are taking any medications, please make your practitioner aware of this.
Is there any downtime with Profhilo?
You’ll be able to go about your normal life immediately after treatment. Your practitioner will provide you with full aftercare instructions.
You may feel an immediate improvement following your treatment in Huntingdon. This is thanks to the hydrating effect, but as Profhilo encourages your body to produce collagen and elastin, it can take a few weeks before you start to notice the full results of your treatment.
Can I have Profhilo in conjunction with other treatments?
Profhilo can be used alongside many of our other treatments in Huntingdon, to further enhance the rejuvenating benefits.
For example, Profhilo is a perfect partner for anti-wrinkle injections. While these combat wrinkles caused by muscle activity, Profhilo gives an overall radiance, complementing the anti-wrinkle injections.
Dermal fillers can also be used in conjunction with Profhilo, to add volume to specific areas, while Profhilo provides more general revitalisation.
Do Profhilo injections hurt?
There may be a slight stinging feeling as the Profhilo is injected, but this will only last a few seconds.
What are the side-effects of having Profhilo?
Normal side-effects include minor swelling, bruising, redness and soreness.
Most of these will subside after a couple of days and be gone within ten. If you are still experiencing problems after ten days you should contact your Huntingdon practitioner for advice.
