Expert Profhilo Treatments
Melior Clinics is delighted to offer expert Profhilo treatment to patients at our clinics:
Profhilo is a revolutionary moisturising treatment. It hydrates and lifts the skin to reduce the appearance of ageing and restore radiance.
With age, the production of hyaluronic acid decreases, leading to a dull, dehydrated and sagging appearance. Profhilo delivers very pure, stabilised hyaluronic acid into the skin through a series of small injections. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring chemical, which the body uses to retain water in the skin and support its collagen and elastin.
As a specialist anti-ageing clinic, our team of experienced Cosmetic Doctors expertly deliver Profhilo Treatments to help patients reverse the effects of ageing and sun damage.

Reviews for our Expert Profhilo Treatment treatment
What is Profhilo treatment like?

Prior to your treatment you will have a free consultation where we will discuss your desired outcome from the treatment and ask you questions about your medical history, to ensure that Profhilo is the right choice for you.
When you’re ready to go ahead, your practitioner will make a series of small injections to administer the treatment.
As an example, facial Profhilo requires only five injections at strategic points around the face.
FAQs
What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is a unique, injectable hyaluronic acid gel. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring chemical, which the body uses to retain water in the skin and support its plumping collagen and elastin.
Profhilo provides one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid available on the market – so we’re delighted to be able to offer this to our patients across the UK.
How does Profhilo work?
Profhilo has a prolonged, stimulating effect on the dermal cells. Delivered into the skin via a series of small injections, Profhilo stimulates the cell receptors to counteract slackness and restore firmness.
The result is skin that feels wonderfully hydrated, lifted and tightened.
Which areas of the skin can be treated?
We can administer Profhilo to tackle the signs of ageing on the face (particularly the cheeks), the neck, décolletage, chest, stomach, inner arms, hands and knees.
Profhilo is particularly effective in improving any slackness and increasing the overall radiance of your skin.
What can I expect at my appointment?
Prior to your treatment you will receive a free consultation with one of our medical practitioners at our clinic. They will discuss what you hope to achieve from the treatment, to ensure that Profhilo is right for you.
Your practitioner will also ask you questions about your medical history to check that the treatment is appropriate and safe for you.
What happens during treatment?
Following your free consultation, depending on the number of areas to be treated, your treatment itself will be as quick as 10 minutes.
Your practitioner will make a series of small injections to administer the Profhilo – there may be a slight stinging sensation, but this only lasts a few seconds.
What can I expect after my Profhilo treatment?
You’ll be able to go about your normal life immediately after treatment. Your practitioner will provide you with full aftercare instructions.
Following your Profhilo treatment, you may feel an immediate improvement thanks to the hydrating effect. As Profhilo encourages your body to produce its own anti-ageing collagen and elastin, it can take a few weeks before you start to notice the full results of your treatment.
After a month you can expect your skin to feel smoother, softer, tighter and plumper. At this point you will need a second treatment to fully stimulate the collagen and elastin production for optimal results.
How many Profhilo treatments are recommended?
New patients will require two treatments, four weeks apart. You’ll be able to go about your normal routine straight after treatment.
Depending on your skin type and desired results, your practitioner may recommend a third treatment, usually eight weeks after your second one.
How long does Profhilo last?
Profhilo continues to work in your skin for around a month after your treatment, at which point it will have been fully metabolised by your body.
By this time, it will have stimulated your natural collagen and elastin production, meaning that the rejuvenating effects of your treatment will continue even after Profhilo has been naturally broken down.
After your initial treatments, a Profhilo treatment every six months should be sufficient to maintain the benefits.
How does Profhilo differ from fillers?
Whilst dermal fillers and Profhilo are both made from moisture-boosting hyaluronic acid, they perform different functions in the skin.
Dermal fillers are designed to stay in a single place, adding instant plumpness to sagging skin.
Profhilo works differently. It integrates with the skin to trigger your own, natural, anti-ageing processes. In addition, Profhilo does not contain synthetic additives, such as BDDE, which minimises the risk of side effects.
Both treatments have different, but equally impressive, benefits. Find out more about Profhilo vs fillers.
Can Profhilo be used to prevent the signs of ageing?
Yes. Our practitioners may also recommend Profhilo as a preventative measure for skin ageing.
This is achieved because Profhilo integrates with your skin to trigger your natural, anti-ageing processes.
Who can be treated with Profhilo?
Profhilo is suitable for most people who want to counteract the effects of skin ageing.
As with any injectable treatment, we won’t be able to treat you if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you have any other medical condition or are taking any medications, please make your practitioner aware of this.
Can I use Profhilo with other treatments?
Profhilo can be used alongside many of our other treatments to further enhance the rejuvenating benefits.
For example, Profhilo is a perfect partner for anti-wrinkle injections. While these combat wrinkles caused by particular muscles, Profhilo gives an overall radiance, complementing the anti-wrinkle injections.
Dermal fillers can also be used in conjunction with Profhilo, to add volume to specific areas, while Profhilo provides more general revitalisation.
What are the side-effects of having Profhilo?
Normal side-effects include minor swelling, bruising, redness and soreness.
Most of these will subside after a couple of days and be gone within ten. If you are still experiencing problems after ten days you should contact your practitioner for advice.
