Dermal fillers Sevenoaks

Dermal fillers Sevenoaks

Dermal filler treatment involves carefully targeted injections of hyaluronic acid – a naturally occurring substance that supports the skin’s structure, alongside collagen and elastin.

Dermal fillers plump and hydrate your skin. They replenish lost volume and smooth deep wrinkles to rejuvenate your appearance.

Fillers can also enhance your natural features. For example, by adding definition to your lips, reducing the appearance of scars or recontouring your nose.

At our Sevenoaks clinic, you can experience the rejuvenating effects of dermal fillers.

We use dermal fillers to address all these common issues for our Sevenoaks patients:

  • Smokers’ lines/perioral lines
  • Oral commissure lines
  • Marionette lines
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Sunken under-eyes and cheeks
  • ‘Bunny’ lines
  • Bags under the eyes

Reviews for our Dermal fillers treatment

Having had my first ever procedure (lip fillers) which I was a little apprehensive about, my doctor made me feel at ease and reassured. This automatically makes me want to return to her rather than try anywhere else. I feel confident in her expertise.”

What is dermal filler treatment like?

Before your treatment

You’ll have a consultation with your practitioner to discuss your concerns, medical history, and desired results, ensuring the treatment is safe and suitable for you.

During your treatment

The area will be cleansed and, if needed, a numbing cream applied. Dermal filler is then carefully injected using a fine needle or cannula, with the practitioner shaping it to achieve a natural-looking result.

You may experience mild swelling or bruising, which typically subsides within a few days. Most results are visible immediately, with full effects seen as any swelling settles.

FAQs

What are dermal fillers made of?

Most dermal fillers we use are made of hyaluronic acid. This is a naturally occurring substance which helps your skin to retain water. It also supports the structure of collagen and elastin fibres.

The exception to this is our Sculptra filler treatment which is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) filler. Rather than adding instant volume, Sculptra works gradually to stimulate collagen production and add volume over several weeks.

Our Sevenoaks patients have dermal filler treatment to smooth out deep folds and wrinkles and plump skin that has lost volume.

Which dermal filler brands do you use?

We stock a selection of high quality filler brands and will select the best one to suit your treatment. The brands we use include Juvéderm, Restylane and Sculptra.

What are the benefits of dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers at our Sevenoaks clinic can be used to give you natural-looking rejuvenation by:

  • Restoring lost volume
  • Lifting sagging skin
  • Plumping out deep wrinkles and folds
  • Rehydrating your skin
  • Stimulating natural collagen production

Dermal fillers can also recontour your features, adjusting your profile to, for example, balance your jawline or straighten your nose.

What filler treatments do you offer?

Our dermal fillers can be used in a wide range of areas for our Sevenoaks patients:

We also offer Profhilo, Jalupro, Sunekos and Restylane Skinbooster treatments. Like most of our fillers, these are also made from hyaluronic acid. However, rather than adding volume to a particular area, they instead provide an overall hydrating and rejuvenating effect.

Can dermal fillers treat scarring?

Dermal fillers can improve the appearance of indented scars (including acne scars) for our Sevenoaks patients. This is achieved by pushing out the skin at the base of the scar to make it more flush with the surface of the skin.

Dermal fillers also deeply hydrate the skin around the scar, helping to further improve its appearance.

While primarily used for facial scars, dermal fillers can also improve scarring elsewhere on the body.

Do dermal filler injections hurt?

No, our fillers include a built-in local anaesthetic to minimise discomfort.

How long does the appointment take?

Your appointment, which includes a consultation with one of our expert practitioners at our Sevenoaks clinic, will take at least 45 minutes.

Depending on the number of areas to be treated, it could take longer than this.

How quickly do dermal fillers work?

Although you won’t see the full effects for a few days (up to ten days for lip fillers), you will see the initial results straight away. Once any minor swelling has subsided, the full results will show.

How long do dermal fillers last?

The exact length of time depends on the type of filler used and where it’s administered.

Who can have dermal filler treatments?

Our Sevenoaks practitioners will always take a full medical history to ensure that it is safe for you to have dermal fillers. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding you will not be able to have them.

We will also discuss the results you are looking for, to make sure that fillers will give you the benefits you want.

What are the side effects of dermal fillers?

Side effects include minor swelling, bruising, redness and soreness.

Most of these will fully resolve within two to ten days. If you are still experiencing side effects after ten days you should contact your practitioner in Sevenoaks for advice.

Is there any downtime after filler treatments?

At our Sevenoaks clinic, we do everything we can to minimise swelling or bruising after your treatment, for example by using local anaesthetics and, when appropriate, a cannula to administer the injection.

Any swelling, bruising or redness which does occur, should have calmed down after a couple of days and be completely gone ten days after treatment.

Can I have anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers at the same time?

Yes, anti-wrinkle injections and dermal filler treatments complement each other very well, as they combine to give our Sevenoaks patients a complete rejuvenated effect.

Your practitioner may advise you to have your anti-wrinkle injections first, wait a couple of weeks to assess the results, and then carry out the filler treatment.

This ensures that the fillers can be used to improve any lines and wrinkles that the anti-wrinkle injections haven’t resolved.

Can fillers be removed?

Yes, non-permanent dermal fillers can be removed.

With hyaluronic acid fillers, this is a relatively simple procedure involving injections of the enzyme hyaluronidase, which will partially or completely dissolve the filler.

Are dermal fillers safe?

Dermal fillers are very safe when they are administered by a suitably trained, qualified and experienced medical practitioner.

At our Sevenoaks clinic, we will ask you about your medical history and any ongoing conditions or medications you are taking, so that we can ensure the treatment is right for you.
