Are Skinboosters the same as dermal fillers?
Restylane Skinboosters are a type of dermal filler. Like many other dermal fillers, they are made from hyaluronic acid. However, they are designed to integrate with your skin for an overall hydrating effect, whereas other types of dermal filler stay in one place to add volume.
Do Skinbooster injections hurt?
No, we use a local anaesthetic to minimise any discomfort during your treatment.
How long does the treatment take?
The treatment itself will take about 20 to 30 minutes, however you should allow up to 45 minutes for your appointment as it will include a pre-treatment consultation.
Who can have Skinboosters?
Restylane Skinboosters are suitable for almost all skin types and are particularly helpful for ageing skin which has become dehydrated or thin. You should not have Skinboosters if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
Before your treatment, your practitioner will discuss your medical history to ensure that Skinboosters are safe and appropriate for you.
How many treatments will I need?
You will see the benefits after your first treatment. We generally recommend a course of three treatments, two to four weeks apart, for optimal results.
How long do the benefits last?
Restylane Skinboosters should continue to hydrate and boost your skin for up to six months. You should then need just one treatment every six months to maintain the benefits.
Can I have other treatments with Skinboosters?
Yes, Restylane Skinboosters work well in conjunction with other treatments. This could include botox or other volumising dermal fillers.
