Patient story: Jayne’s transformative experience of Potenza and Fillers

What aesthetic treatments have you had with us before?

I have had botox and fillers. I usually see Tim for a top-up every 5-6 months. He always gives me an honest opinion and will only recommend a treatment if he feels it’s genuinely necessary. I have complete confidence in his guidance.

Was there a particular reason you decided to have these treatments now?

I’m always looking for ways to improve and enhance the appearance of my skin.

However, when I saw Tim before my recent treatment, it was following a period of weight-loss and I felt that my features lacked definition. This was particularly true of my neck and jawline, which felt slack and needed refining.

How did our team prepare you for the treatment?

I knew what to expect with fillers as I have had them several times before, but Potenza microneedling was new to me, so I didn’t really know what to expect.

Kim was very patient and explained what the treatment involved, with the combination of the fine needles with heat, and how it would feel, so I was fully prepared.

Three treatments were recommended to achieve the results I was hoping for.

I have sensitive skin, so I was a little bit nervous about it being uncomfortable, but Kim applied numbing cream to make sure I was as comfortable as possible.

What did the treatment feel like?

There was some discomfort during the treatment, which I fully expected.

The sensation was a stinging, tingling feeling, but it was bearable and, to be honest, it was preferable to a visit to the dentist! I would certainly do it again.

My skin was a little red and puffy for a day or two after each treatment, but this calmed very quickly.

How soon did you start to notice the benefits?

The results evolve gradually, but after two weeks, I noticed that my skin had a nice plump feeling.

After the full course of treatment, the results have been transformative.

How do you feel about the results?

It wasn’t until I saw the before and after photos that I realised the full effects.

My boss was the first to notice – the comment was: “you look younger every time I see you!”

The great thing is that you look different, but people can’t tell what you’ve had done. You achieve a fresher look without changing anything.

My skin feels plumped and regenerated. My jawline is more defined, and I look younger.

An unexpected benefit was the fullness in my lips. The Potenza has plumped my lips without the need for filler.

Would you have dermal fillers or Potenza microneedling again?

I would have both treatments again, perhaps Potenza annually to maintain the results, and fillers when I need a top up – in combination with botox to maintain the smoothness of my skin.

I will take Tim’s advice, as always.
