What is ZO Ossential Peel treatment like?

Man getting a peel applied to his face

Before the peel begins, your hair will be gently protected and your face thoroughly cleansed to remove any makeup, oil, or impurities. The ZO Stimulator Peel is then applied to the skin using a soft brush and left on for up to four minutes.

You may feel a mild tingling or warmth as the peel works. After this, a neutralising solution is used to balance the skin’s pH, followed by soothing, hydrating products to calm and nourish the skin.

The treatment is quick, with no downtime, and leaves the skin feeling refreshed and looking brighter.

ZO Ossential – your questions answered

What is the science behind the ZO Ossential Peel?

The ZO Ossential Stimulator Peel contains a blend of salicylic acid, lactic acid and citric acid. The salicylic acid exfoliates by removing dead skin cells. This unclogs pores and reveals fresh, vibrant skin. Lactic acid and citric acid perform a similar role but are milder, providing more gentle peel.

Who can have the ZO Ossential Stimulator Peel?

This peel is suitable for most skin types; you will receive a consultation before your first treatment to check it is right for you.

If you have active cold sores, herpes simplex or warts on your face then you may need to delay treatment until these are resolved.

You should not have chemical skin peels if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

How long does the treatment take?

The peel itself takes 20 minutes, or 40 minutes if it includes a prescription facial. However, you should allow up to a 60 minutes for the appointment if it’s your first ZO Ossential Stimulator Peel treatment, as you will need a full consultation

How much downtime is there afterwards?

None! Hence its nickname, The Red Carpet Peel. To get the best results, we suggest having the treatment three days before a big event.

How many treatments should I have?

You’ll see the benefits after just one treatment. To achieve the optimal results, we recommend weekly peels for four weeks, particularly for the improvement of skin conditions such as acne.

What is the prescription facial?

You can enjoy a prescription facial alongside your Red Carpet Peel. The facial uses accelerated serums to further improve the texture and tone of your skin, and it can be specifically tailored to help red or sensitive complexions.

The serum will be applied during your treatment and you will be given a vial of the serum to continue using at home for two weeks.
