Reviews for our Lip fillers treatment
What is lip filler treatment like?

Pre-treatment consultation
Every visit to Melior Clinics begins with a consultation with your practitioner, to discuss your medical history and desired outcomes from your treatment.
Pain management during treatment
As lips are so sensitive, our experienced practitioner will administer a local anaesthetic prior to treatment to ensure that the area is numb and the treatment can be administered without pain and with minimal swelling.
Lip filler injections
Lip fillers are then very carefully injected into the designated area with the aim of giving you natural-looking, voluminous lips.

Lip fillers – your questions answered
What are the benefits of lip fillers?
If you are not happy with the natural size and shape of your lips or the fact that the ageing process has caused them to become thin with a lack of definition, our lip fillers can be the perfect solution. Safe, natural and painless, our treatments can help to create the lips you have always wanted and combat fine smokers’ lines, issues including lack of volume, wrinkles, smile lines, cupid’s bows and lowered corners/oral commissures.
As well as aiming to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, our lip enhancement treatments can also enhance the effect of lipstick and minimise ‘lipstick bleed’ which sometimes occurs at the lip border.
The ‘Cupid’s Bow’, which is the V-shaped area of your upper lip, can often cause lipstick to bleed down the vertical wrinkles, thereby losing line definition and actually accentuating the appearance of blemishes and wrinkles around the top of the mouth.
What is the science behind lip filler?
Our dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in your skin. When injected in the lips, the filler replenishes lost volume and, thanks to hyaluronic acid’s water retaining capabilities, gives a boost of moisture. Additionally, it can stimulate collagen production over time, further enhancing its efficacy.
The safety and efficacy of hyaluronic acid lip fillers has been shown by numerous studies, for example:

Can anyone have lip fillers?
Lip fillers are suitable for the majority of our patients, however we will not offer them to anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you have a cold sore, or other infection around the area to be treated, we’ll ask you to postpone treatment until it’s fully healed.
There are also some specific medical conditions which may preclude you from having lip fillers, your practitioner will discuss these with you during your consultation.
What type of filler is used for lip filler treatment?
We only use hyaluronic acid dermal fillers from tried and trusted brands.
How long does lip filler treatment take?
If you are just having lip filler, your appointment will last for up to 30 minutes. The treatment itself will take around 20 to 30 minutes.
If you are also having filler injections in other areas, or additional treatments, your appointment will take longer.
How much do lip fillers cost?
Please see our pricing information above.
Is there much downtime after lip filler treatment
You’ll need to be careful with your lips for the first 24 hours after treatment, avoiding lipstick or lip moisturisers, hot drinks, alcohol and sun exposure.
You may also have some slight swelling and tenderness for up to ten days after treatment.
We advise you to have your lip fillers at least two weeks before any important events, to ensure that you look your best!
How long do lip fillers last?
You should continue to see the benefits of your treatment for up to a year. This will vary from person to person. If you repeat the treatment over a number of years, you should find that the effects last longer.
Can I have lip fillers combined with other treatments?
Yes, lip fillers are perfectly partnered by many of our other treatments.
For example, you may opt to have facial dermal fillers to lift and plump your mid and lower face, enhancing the rejuvenating effect of lip fillers.
We also offer botox to slightly relax your upper lip so your gumline doesn’t appear when you smile (known as a “gummy smile”); this treatment can partner well with lip fillers.
