Mesotherapy is an advanced non-invasive rejuvenation treatment used to nourish, hydrate and rejuvenate the skin. It involves a series of micro injections of active ingredients delivered directly to the mesoderm – the layer of fat and tissue underneath the skin – to specific target areas such as the face, neck, décolletage, hands or areas of cellulite. Injections of natural remedies containing a mixture of Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, anti-oxidants and amino acids are used to help soften wrinkles, brighten the complexion, reduce cellulite, stimulate collagen production and restore a youthful glow.
Mesotherapy is an intradermal technique invented in 1952 by Dr. Michel Pistor (1924-2003) where medication, natural extracts and vitamins are injected into the mesoderm, the layer of fat and connective tissue under the skin. Mesotherapy strengthens elastin fibers, stimulates collagen production, fights free radicals and stimulates cellular activity. Mesotherapy can also improve skin laxity and muscle atrophy, helping the skin to appear firmer and healthier with a “glow” like appearance.
As we age our skin begins to lose its plumpness, elasticity and resiliency. Sun damage and progressive collagen loss contribute to this. Skin rejuvenation via Mesotherapy infuses the dermis with potent vitamins, hyaluronic acid and anti-oxidants to rejuvenate and revitalise the skin. Patients who have undergone this treatment often describe their skin as radiant, firm, youthful and glowing.
Our specialist Mesotherapy practitioners will cleanse and properly sterilise your skin prior to the injections. Following a thorough skin assessment, the proper combination of vitamins, amino acids and hyaluronic acid will be selected for your tailor-made treatment. You will feel light pricks or stings as we start to administer the injections to open the micro channels into your skin. We do this so that the vitamin combination we have chosen for you is able to penetrate deeper and more rapidly into the skin. Once the injection stage is complete, the residual meso product will be massaged over the treated area. There is no downtime. Following treatment, an SPF is applied to protect your skin. We recommend that you do not apply any other product to the treated area for 12 hours.
Cellulite occurs when abnormal nodules of fat form on the stomach, thighs, buttocks, the lower back (“love handles”) and the back of the arms and often gives the appearance of dimpling to the affected area. Mesotherapy injections are given to not only improve lymphatic flow but also to break down the fat nodules.
Because cellulite is an abnormality in fat accumulation, Mesotherapy for cellulite reduction should be undertaken in conjunction with healthy eating habits and exercise.
This will vary depending on the conditions we are treating and what results you are hoping to achieve. In general, we usually recommend a course of between 3-6 sessions for the best results, with bi-annual maintenance top ups thereafter. All treatments take 45 minutes and the benefits can been seen immediately.
