Profhilo
As we age, our skin can need a little help to retain its youthful glow. Profhilo will hydrate and lift your skin to reduce sagging and restore radiance.
Profhilo delivers very pure, stabilised hyaluronic acid into the skin through a series of small injections. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring chemical, which the body uses to retain water in the skin and support its collagen and elastin.
With age, the production of hyaluronic acid decreases, leading to a dull, dehydrated and sagging appearance. The result of Profhilo’s intensive hyaluronic acid boost is wonderfully hydrated, tightened and lifted skin.

Reviews for our Profhilo treatment
What is Profhilo treatment like?

Prior to your treatment you will have a free consultation where we will discuss your desired outcome from the treatment and ask you questions about your medical history, to ensure that Profhilo is the right choice for you.
When you’re ready to go ahead, your practitioner will make a series of small injections to administer the treatment.
As an example, facial Profhilo requires only five injections at strategic points around the face.

Profhilo – your questions answered
What is Profhilo made of?
Profhilo contains pure, stabilised hyaluronic acid. Profhilo does not contain synthetic additives, such as BDDE, which minimises the risk of side effects.
How does Profhilo work?
The pure hyaluronic acid in Profhilo is deeply hydrating to the skin. It also encourages the production of collagen, which has a plumping and volumising effect, to reduce the signs of ageing and sun damage.
Because Profhilo acts on the skin at a cellular level, it has a prolonged rejuvenating effect.

What is the science behind Profhilo?
Profhilo contains one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid available.
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that retains up to 1,000 times its weight in water.
Hyaluronic acid is deeply hydrating for the skin. It promotes plumped, revitalised skin, and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Profhilo’s formulation integrates with the skin through a process called bio remodelling. This stimulates collagen and elastin production. Its effect continues to work in the skin following treatment.

What are the longer term benefits of Profhilo?
Profhilo continues to work in your skin for around a month after your treatment, at which point it will have been fully metabolised by your body.
By this time, it will have stimulated your natural collagen and elastin production, meaning that the rejuvenating effects of your treatment will continue even after Profhilo has been naturally broken down.
After a month you should expect your skin to feel smoother, softer, tighter and plumper. At this point you will need a second treatment to fully stimulate the collagen and elastin production for optimal results.
Can Profhilo be used to prevent the signs of ageing?
Yes. We may also recommend Profhilo as a preventative measure for skin ageing.
This is achieved because Profhilo integrates with your skin to trigger your natural, anti-ageing processes.
What parts of the body can be treated with Profhilo?
Profhilo can be used to combat the signs of ageing on your face (particularly the cheeks), neck, décolletage, chest, stomach, inner arms, hands and knees.
It is also an effective treatment for acne scarring and to combat dry, winter skin.
How does Profhilo differ from dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers and Profhilo are both made from moisture-boosting hyaluronic acid.
However, dermal fillers are designed to stay in a single place, adding instant plumpness to sagging skin.
Profhilo works differently. It integrates with the skin to trigger your own, natural, anti-ageing processes.
Both treatments have different, but equally impressive, benefits.
How long will the treatment take?
The treatment itself could be as quick as 10 minutes, depending on the number of areas to be treated. The full appointment will take around 30 minutes.
How many Profhilo treatments are recommended?
For new patients, we recommend two treatments, four weeks apart for the best results.
Depending on your skin type, your practitioner may recommend a third treatment, usually eight weeks after your second one.
How quickly will I see results?
You may feel an immediate improvement thanks to the hydrating effect, but it can take a few weeks before you start to notice the real results of your treatment – as the Profhilo encourages your body to produce its own anti-ageing collagen and elastin.
How long does Profhilo last for?
After your initial treatments, a Profhilo treatment every six months should be sufficient to maintain the benefits.
After treatment, how quickly can I return to daily activities?
You’ll be able to go about your normal life immediately after treatment. Your practitioner will provide you with full aftercare instructions.
Do Profhilo injections hurt?
There may be a slight stinging feeling as the Profhilo is injected, but this will only last a few seconds. We use a local anaesthetic to minimise any discomfort.
What are the side effects of having Profhilo?
Normal side effects include minor swelling, bruising, redness and soreness.
Most of these will subside after a couple of days and be gone within ten. If you are still experiencing problems after ten days you should contact your practitioner for advice.
Who can have Profhilo?
Profhilo is suitable for most people who want to deal with the effects of skin ageing.
As with any injectable treatment, we won’t be able to treat you if you are pregnant or breast feeding. If you have any other medical condition or are taking any medications, please make your practitioner aware of this.
Can I have Profhilo in conjunction with other treatments?
Profhilo can be used alongside many of our other treatments, to further enhance the rejuvenating benefits.
For example, Profhilo is a perfect partner for botox treatments. While botox tackles wrinkles caused by specific muscles, the Profhilo will give an overall radiance boost, complimenting the botox.
Dermal fillers can also be used in conjunction with Profhilo, to add volume to specific areas, while the Profhilo provides more general rejuvenation.
